Hard time with time

After having a hard time yesterday trying to get the commodities and securities "timetable", I have discovered that it is useless as it is. Some brokers let you trade them only in some more specific periods than possible according to the exchanges. I have seen, for instance, currency crosses that only trade some hours a day in the broker and are listed on Globex. According to CME website they should be available for trading more than 23 hours per day.

To solve these concerns and more things that could come, I have opened a paper trading account with Interactive Brokers. While I find out all the necessary details with this deep-discount broker, I will trade on paper with the paper trading account. If their restricted timetable seems to limit my trading in an important way, I will open an account with Global Futures or Alaron Trading instead.

Blog for what

I've started this blog mainly to record my activity into the markets. I have traded before a lot, but I was part-time trading, it wasn't the same. Important or not, it is something that belongs to the past.

The markets I'm going to trade are Futures, Bonds and Forex. My focus will be always to make a turn to Options some day, but currently I don't know Options enough to trade them.

I have some friends that like trading a lot. These are my groups of friends:

- Spanish: My friend Jose Antonio and my friend and ex-associated Emilio. Both like trading and both know very little about trading. We three are going make a living from trading. Wish we luck

- English: My friend Daryl, whose wife is from Alicante, very near Valencia, where I currently live. He is living on mortgage selling since two or three years ago and likes forex a lot. I'd like to share with him a good technique for Futures that doesn't carry too much risk. For now I don't have that yet.

- More English: My friends Lorraine, Cookie, Jon and Carl. They are in a Jabber group we made to trade a technique that we don't trade now (except Cookie who trades it sometimes). Sharing is a norm in this group.

- More English: My friend Fawzi, who is sometimes at Morocco and sometimes at Paris. He is not trading because he wants to automate a technique to avoid trading by himself. He is an ex-worker of Reuters.

- More English: My friend Gary, Gaz, etc. He is the most acid person I know in trading. He has been banned in forums everywhere :) He has a friend called Claude who programs tradestation and visualchart quite quick. I was in contact with him sometime long ago, until he lost contact, never sure if it was by chance or not but who cares...

The rest of my friends have nothing to do with trading, so I won't mention them here.
